Maggie Zeng is a Montreal-based illustrator and sequential artist with a degree in Illustration from Dawson College. She aims to make story-driven illustrations and comics that convey a feeling of adventure and wonder through fun characters and magical environments. Maggie has worked as a graphic arts technician for the communications department of her college, where she had the opportunity to create informational animations.

Her work is strongly inspired by children’s book illustrations and visual development art. She uses both digital and traditional tools and media, including Procreate, Photoshop, After Effects, watercolour, and gouache, to create her illustrations and animations. Maggie’s favourite pencil is a 0.9mm Staedtler Mars micro that someone stole from her during her first year of high school. (She bought a second one.)

When she isn’t agonizing over her life decisions (and trust me, she does that a lot), Maggie can be found reading fantasy and science fiction books, watching movies with her family and two dogs, and trying fun new foods. She is an avid fan of minesweeper.
